SpeciAI - A verified methodology using new approaches in X-ray imaging of soft tissues (animal organs, surgical breast resections) in conjunction with automated diagnostics.

Implementation period: 01/2024 – 06/2026

The aim of the project is to investigate the differences in spectral responses of tissues and their evaluation using artificial intelligence in order to create an algorithm that would be able to distinguish individual tissues with high certainty based on these differences. - The main output of the project is a verified methodology using new approaches in X-ray imaging of soft tissues (animal organs, surgical breast resections) in conjunction with automated diagnostics. - The main result of the project is a computational algorithm that, based on spectral data obtained from detectors, differentiates tumor tissue from healthy tissue and determines its extent without converting the data into image form in an intermediate step. - Other results include a measuring imaging system and programs supporting the control of detectors for the given measurements and data processing.

This project is funded with state support from the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic under the TREND Program and is funded under the National Recovery Plan from the European Recovery and Resilience Facility.
