
Carebot is expanding its portfolio with Carebot AI MMG, a newly certified artificial intelligence solution designed to support radiologists in mammography screening. The system highlights suspicious findings, assists with image interpretation, and automatically evaluates the technical quality of mammographic examinations.
The certification marks another important milestone for Carebot, bringing the company’s portfolio to three proprietary AI solutions certified under the EU Medical Device Regulation.
Supporting Earlier Breast Cancer Detection
Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among women. In the Czech Republic, approximately 7,700 new cases are diagnosed every year, while around 1,700 women die from the disease. Early detection therefore remains one of the most important factors influencing treatment options and patient outcomes.
Carebot AI MMG supports radiologists in evaluating routine mammography examinations by highlighting areas that may require closer attention. It can serve as an additional independent reader, helping clinicians reduce the risk of missed findings and make more confident diagnostic decisions.
When the algorithm classifies an examination as negative, the result is confirmed in up to 99.6% of cases. The solution can therefore support the prioritisation of clinically relevant cases while helping radiologists manage high examination volumes more efficiently.
More Than Lesion Detection
Carebot AI MMG also assesses image quality and flags technical issues that could affect diagnostic accuracy. Integrated into existing PACS environments, it delivers AI-generated insights directly within the radiologist’s standard workflow.
“Artificial intelligence can highlight suspicious findings, improve diagnostic accuracy, and support the earlier detection of breast cancer. However, it does not replace the radiologist’s expert judgement; it serves as a decision-support tool,” says Ľudovít Sebő, MD, Head of the Department of Radiology at AGEL Komárno.
AI as Part of Everyday Mammography Screening
Artificial intelligence is already becoming an established part of mammography screening in clinical practice.
“In the Czech Republic, AI is already used by approximately 30% of mammography centres, while many others are currently testing different systems. Personally, I can no longer imagine screening without the support of AI,” says Prof. Jan Daneš, MD, CSc.
With the certification of Carebot AI MMG, Carebot is extending its technology into another key area of medical imaging. The company’s goal remains unchanged: to provide healthcare professionals with reliable, clinically validated tools that integrate naturally into everyday practice and support the earlier detection of serious diseases.
