Carebot, in a consortium with Polish group Synektik, has won a national tender to supply artificial intelligence for mammography and chest X-ray analysis. Through a single national platform, our technologies will gradually become available to nearly 400 hospitals across Poland. The project brings AI beyond individual hospital deployments and into the country’s healthcare infrastructure.
The tender was issued by Poland’s Centrum e‑Zdrowia, the institution responsible for healthcare digitalisation. The project includes an Intelligent Services Platform through which participating hospitals will gain access to AI analysis of medical images.
Within the consortium, Carebot provides the AI technologies for mammography and chest X-ray analysis. Synektik is responsible for integration with the national platform, deployment and ongoing maintenance. The partnership combines Carebot’s diagnostic AI expertise with the Polish partner’s capacity to deliver a project on a national scale.
Two solutions, one national platform
The project will make two solutions available: Carebot AI CXR for chest X-ray analysis and the mammography AI solution within Horizon by Carebot. Both are certified medical devices under the European Medical Device Regulation.
The scale of the project reflects the needs of Polish healthcare. Up to 20 million chest X-ray examinations are performed in the country each year. The national platform creates the conditions for AI support to become a routine part of interpreting these examinations.
For Carebot, the tender win extends our work from individual hospital deployments to a national system, building on experience gained in healthcare facilities across Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
The same support in major centres and regional hospitals
Access to diagnostic technologies often depends on the resources of each institution. A national approach makes it possible to offer the same AI support to radiologists in large university centres and smaller regional hospitals.
Instead of procuring AI solutions independently, participating hospitals can use shared infrastructure that provides consistent access across the network. This is one of the project’s key benefits: making support available to physicians regardless of the size of the hospital where they work.
A second pair of eyes for radiologists
AI analyses images, highlights suspicious areas and provides an output that physicians can use when interpreting an examination. It helps draw attention to subtle findings that can be overlooked when reporting large volumes of studies.
Carebot acts as a second pair of eyes for radiologists. The physician remains responsible for the final interpretation and decisions about further care. In Poland, this support will be available through the national platform, with outputs fully localised into Polish.
Experience in Polish hospitals
We have been active in Poland for two years. Through a programme focused on early lung cancer detection, our AI has analysed tens of thousands of chest X-rays in local hospitals. We therefore bring both deployment experience and an understanding of everyday clinical practice to the national project.

Our long-term goal is to make AI a standard of care. The Polish project gives that ambition a concrete form: one national platform, nearly 400 hospitals and a shared foundation for access to AI support across the country.
